Using a suitable size cleaner that will accept the carburetor/s to be cleaned looks to have promising results. Some Youtube links----- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRksbn8T-qU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7aLziTU-eo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVG-mmXE5Kk

Re: Ultrasound cleaners
Yes I have one and use it for carbs. I use simple green in it and have had very good results. I dunked the intake and heads from the flathead in it and had some good results on them also. I have a Kendal unit with mechanical switches instead of electronic board. I feel like I got my money's worth out of it.

Re: Ultrasound cleaners
I have one of those small table top unit from Harbor Freight. It works well. Didn't really get the outside clean, but I impressed with the gunk that came out from inside of the unit. I cleaned Strombergs and newer motorcycle carbs with it.

Re: Ultrasound cleaners
I bought one from HF specifically for cleaning out a Vespa carb. It worked perfectly.
Just make sure the reservoir is big enough for whatever carb you intend to put in it.

Re: Ultrasound cleaners
I have a small unit I use for locks, handles etc.
I use simple green for some stuff. For rust removal I use EvapoRust on the high heat setting. The results are amazing ! EvapoRust will "eat" pot metal....... soooo..... pay attention and check the parts often.

Re: Ultrasound cleaners
I use my HF one all the time. I was just cleaning transmission parts with it earlier today. Any small parts that need cleaning go in it. I have rebuilt carbs with it and it does great. Simple green and some water usually works fine.
Thanks, —louis |
