Default Re: 82-b pickup lower seat springs question

I went to a car show yesterday in Sapulpa, OK, and saw a '31, 82-b that has a seat just as mine in it. It further confuses the issue for me, as the owner claims the truck came that way with the overhang as large as my own seat has with the seat springs in it.

I guess it is the size of the photos that makes them load here sideways at this site as that is no thow they are saved on my computer.

This may help. It looks like the side of the steering wheel facing the driver is
5 1/2" behind the front edge of the seat cushion.

To me, that looks like an AA in the drawing. Maybe I am incorrect, but it really does not look like my pickup.

Yes, I have seen a similar photo, too, but the guy at the car show also claimed his seat was original. Makes me wonder if maybe Ford used what was available at the time and some fit better than others as far as how much overhang they actually had. I have no idea though.

On a totally different note though, I am always amazed as to just what one can find in looking at other places when going to a car show. You find the oddest things in furniture stores or thrift stores.

Found this Model T stuffed back in a furniture store when shopping after the car show and museum visits yesterday. Made my day in seeing the thing so oddly placed. :-)

The A and AA both use the same 82B cab.
