Light switch body disassembly question
Someone posted some photos of the inner parts of a light switch body that they had taken apart. I can't seem to find the thread with the original photos of such posted so I'll repost them in this thread.
My question is, how do you disassemble these parts from the actual housing body? Yes, how do you take them apart without destroying anything so they can be cleaned or the inside of the light switch body cleaned out and then put back in for use? I got a muffler expansion tool, but it will not work with these parts still inside the housing as the threaded rod to it presses against them in the housing. If they are removed, then the expansion tool may work okay to widen the body so that the other metal housing part can slip in okay , but that is yet to be seen. Thanks for any info on how to remove the innard pieces to the light switch body. |

Re: Light switch body disassembly question
BrakeKleen, carb cleaner, PB Blaster. Spray it liberally, air dry or blow dry, re-assemble. Simple.

No, I am not looking as to how to clean the parts, but instead how to remove them and not break them in doing so. How are these parts removed from the bottom metal body assembly?

The standard muffler expansion tool simply will not work as to enlarging that housing because of the inner parts being in the way of the screw bolt of the muffler expansion tool. |
