Default 37-41 Inner Distributor Cap

I recently purchased some reproduction Inner Distributor Caps (68-12118) and had to file down the edges before they would seat properly in the distributor. Just curious if anyone else has had that experience?

It's common with the reproduction caps to have to file or sand them to fit properly.....

It has also been necessary for me to sand the OD for proper fit when using '32 to early '36, NOS or good used original inner caps.

The new repo cap posts are about 1/3 the diameter size of the originals. Not that it matters, just something I noticed.

Hi Everyone, 4dFord, You asked about the reproduction parts, but I thought I'd chime in to add to the chaos.

I'm a noobie wrenching on these vehicles, but have only used the really old parts, and YES I have had to massage the fitment on each inner cap that I have used.

JM is a good teacher, and I think every dizzy I've been that deep into he's been there to guide the progress! Great mentor.
