Default Sun Coil Tester

Anybody have an idea where I might find a manual to show how to operate this thing?

Sun test equipment is used for the checks described in the Lincoln Mercury overhaul manual for the 49 thru 51 models but they use two different instruments. One is just a Sun Volt/Amp meter to check the primary resistance by way of voltage applied. The other is the actual coil tester pretty much like the one you have and they have a built in breaker unit. First the unit is calibrated for the dwell of the breaker then it can warm the coil up to operating temp. Secondary continuity is tested then the coil capacity can be checked.

There are several other ignition system tests that can be performed with this instrument. They also made a condenser test unit to go along with the coil tester.
