how wiring a 351W/no start
I have a 351W sitting in a chassis with no wiring harness, but I just want to try to fire it up and get it running for a few seconds. I found a duraspark II (blue) box and some wiring. Using the attached diagram
-I have a little starter button from ign. sw. red wire from the battery to the first small post, then from the first small post to the duraspark. -then from the second small post to the coil + -then from the coil - to the duraspark This is only to fire up the engine I know there's a lot more that needs to be done to it. I just want to see if the engine starts |

Re: how wiring a 351W/no start
Do you have the DS II harness that connects the DIST to the CONTROL MODULE?
It would be much easier if you had a points style DIST for test fire.

-I have that harness
-It's an 80s engine so I replaced it with that. |

With that done, cranking the engine will make it fire. You should only need the one small wire to the solenoid from your start switch to make it crank. The other small wire shown going to the coil is not needed if you have the coil + hooked up as above. Terry
