Default Chrome Plating Video

If you are interested in chrome plating and why it cost so much, and have a half-hour to spare, this youtube video tells all. All this info would apply to nickle plating as well.

Wow, no wonder quality plating is soooooo expensive. Thanks for the link, enjoyed it, and learned something too.

Yes a very excellent video!
Better yet click on the NEXT movie where he goes to pickup the completed part and they stear you through the entire process of prep, grinding, creating anodes & plating.
I've nickeled little stuff with the Caswell system and showed some of the parts here. Watching this video will undoubtedly help me achieve better results although it'll still take intense concentration and hours of time ...probably even longer now
Good quality bodywork & paint is in a similiar catagory, although I think plating poses a harder learning curve than painting and it's FAR less forgiving since it's non-repairable without a total stripdown.
Once again ...a great video that everyone should watch!

Awesome.
I feel like emailing this link to couple of chrome platers in my area. They weren't at all interested in making my items look nice. They just 'coat and go' like the guy in the video says about his competition. So after ruining a prized possesion I'm stuck shipping chrome work out.

Over on the HAMB side, I've read threads saying good things about member "ChromePlaterJosh" who is from chrome shop.

http://www.chromeplatingin.com/

I've asked them for a quote on one of my items and it is very reasonable.
They will be the next I'll try.
