Default 1936 ford electric fuel gauge pickup HOOK UP

ive got a 1936 ford fuel gauge electric i need to hook up.it is fuel gauge only.two terminals on back.one up one down.north and south.i need to know which terminal to hook up power to and which one goes to the sender in the tank? thank you,rick

BG go to ign.sw / y goes to tank,not sure which ter is which. Motor cycle is up against the car door ingarage .will try and move tomorrow and take a look under the dash at gauge. ken ct. I would NOT put 12V to the gauge.ken ct. Added

all i have is the gauge in hand.no markings on back of gauge.

plus ive rewired the whole truck.converted to 12 volt
