Lindsay, The resolution of the pictures isn't good enough to determine a problem with those gears, but anyway, teeth on the inner end of axles only interface with the spider gear. There is no appreciable wear between the axles and spider, as they only turn against each other when you go round a corner. I would be more concerned about the condition of the tapers and threads than any pitting on the gears.

I have bead blasted the gear teeth on several rear axles with good results.

1st check and see if the axle threads are really damaged. As above often times the Henry nuts are replaced with hardware nuts. 2nd if the threads are stripped my advise is change the axle. When you go back together make sure that the key is not the high-point. If it is the hub won't go on all the way and you'll have a real problem if you drive it that way. Lastly I don't ever use anti-sieze on these threads white lube yes anti-seize no. I torque mine to 200 foot pounds, retorque often. Just sayin.
