Smile 1934 ford pickup-powet steering?

Looking to put a cross steer power steering box on my 34 stock front end with proper steering arm for conversion. Have seen nothing but manual units, Vega, etc. Has anyone tried this? Steering this is a handful at slow speed and maybe even my wife can enjoy it!!!!

I'd go for an electric unit, Inexpensive and they work great. Not sure how to put one in a 34 tho??

Mike,

Find someone that has installed the later pick up truck steering and try it. It should give you what you need, look better and probably cost less. Have you compared your steering with other stock steering cars to see if the problem is just your box?

While I wouldn't say electric power steering is inexpensive; it might be least expensive power steering option along with being the less intrusive.

Is it safe to assume that your existing steering box is properly adjusted and lubricated? Remember that the car should be moving slightly when you turn the wheel.

You should leave it the way it is. That way your wife will build up the biceps and then she will be able to carry a heavier burden and do more chores like in the old days....☺☺
