Looking for an adaptor for my engine stand so I can put my 51 ford flat head v8 on it. Where can i buy something like that?

The late '48-'53 flatheads will bolt to regular 4-bolt engine stand adapters.

Like V8 Bob" said, you don't really need one for an 8BA, but the side mount can be handy to have sometimes. You could try Stumpy's Fab Works.

The bell part of the 59 series & earlier V8 blocks are not a real thick casting so those are the ones you have to worry about.

Ther’re easy to make if you’re able to fabricate. I can send you some pics if you want. Being able to turn the motor is handy......Mark

I bought the flathead cradle, and lift plate from him. Found a used stumpy engine stand adapter and bought that also. Working on stripping two flathead's both stuck.

Not 48s. However the flathead adapter will fit all flatheads except 60 HP ones that take a different adapter.

You don't need a bell housing adapter to bolt your complete 8BA to engine stand. In fact, it would be dangerous to use one as they are not as strong as the block itself. Grade 5 bolts work just fine also. Use an engine stand with 4 big casters for max safety and best balance.
Others will say "not needed". True, until your 3 legged engine stand tips over.

The late flathead was introduced in the new '48 F-1 trucks, one year earlier than pass cars.
