Fulton Electric Fan
Is this fan an accessory for an A? I'm interested in installing a fan in my 29 AA truck.
If so how would it be mounted?

Re: Fulton Electric Fan
Looks like it could be used on a Model A and I assume it works on 6 volt. I suppose the most likely and beneficial place would be on top to the steering column - blowing right at the driver! The generator 3rd brush would need to be adjusted to supply enough juice to run it unless you replaced the generator with a 6 volt alternator, which would be the best option.

Re: Fulton Electric Fan
I don’t know the name but have one mounted in my pickup. I mounted it in the upper front right hand corner similar to where they were on old school buses. This way they may be directed towards the windshield or the passengers. Mine needed the rotation reversed.

Re: Fulton Electric Fan
Period correct might be a vacuum operated little fan.

Re: Fulton Electric Fan
Picture shows wires, so must be electric.

I have a Trico vacuum fan that I restored. I only install it for car shows to display era accessories. Last edited by Y-Blockhead; 03-16-2023 at 12:40 PM. |

Re: Fulton Electric Fan
Could very well be true but as I understand it the early cars didn't have the intake manifold tapped for a vacuum fitting and had electric wipers. I'm thinking that an electric fan would be more correct for my early 29 since it would have been made (maybe) before the vacuum wipers started to be standard equipment.
The person that has it will be getting me some better pictures of the mounting base so I can see if could be mounted on my truck. I appreciate all of the input.

Re: Fulton Electric Fan
I have seen both vac and elect. They were pointed toward the winsheld as a defroster.
