Default Early `30 front fender welting

So, im trying to figure out the deal with the nose section of the slash shield that attaches to the front fender. Ive looked all over the internet and cant seem to find any clear pictures of this area and im wondering how its supposed to look. Its my understanding that this piece was originally welded to the front fender but ive seen some picutes that look like they have welting there and some that seem like they dont but i cant tell for sure. So i guess what im asking is if that piece is welded on, is there any kind of welting there or is it just a tight, clean seem? I posted a picture of the part Im referring to. Im asking about the long curved edge that fits into the front fender. Thank you.

Also, does anyone have pictures of a finished doorway, i.e. top, door post, bottom with a sill plate, that I could see? Most people only seem interested in taking pictures of the door itself. thanks again.

There is no welting from the fender to the nose cone for an early 30. They were spotted ito position. The only welting is from the running board valance to the nose cone. The welting did not run onto the running board.
