Re: reverse eye spring
Shouldn't be a problem. You may have the trim(shorten) the rubber snubbers on the frame over the axle. Why not use your existing spring and just buy a reversed eye main leaf?

Re: reverse eye spring
I have a set of the Posies reverse eye springs on our '47 Ford Convertible with the OEM shocks, no problems however, it is a good idea to trim the rubber bumpers as mentioned.

Re: reverse eye spring
No problem. I'm running this set up on a '39 pickup. It only lowers the front about an inch. I am running the stock shocks and 6.50x16 tires. In fact the reverse eye spring is barely noticable.

Re: reverse eye spring
Here's a photo of my 40 when I installed ONLY the Posie reversed eye front spring on the stock front end.. It lowers the car about 1 inch and maybe a 1/2 inch more over time. This photo was taken right after the install. I did not have to trim the rubber axle bump stops. You can see the tiny amount of "rake". Click on photo to enlarge.

Re: reverse eye spring
I used a reverse spring on my 41 pickup. I talked to Posie rep before I ordered. He stressed it lowers the advertised amount based on the ORIGINAL height. Because my truck is 73 years old settling of the stock spring has occured. Therefore I should not expect the full advertised drop. The spring reduced the relationship between the tie rod and the frame so I installed dropped tie rod ends to clear the oil pan. I can't comment on the shocks because I went to tube shocks and removed the originals.

Re: reverse eye spring
I put a posies type complete front spring in my 40 pickup, it lowered it about 2 1/2 inches. I purchased it from Speedway, cheaper. I had to shorten my shock absorber links to as short as possible. I cut them and welded back together. I haven't heard if anyone else had this problem. The rake was perfect. Jack
