KRW Storage Cabinet ???

Does anyone have a cataloge with pic's of the various metal storage cabinets offered by KRW? None of my books show any with doors like this one. But I am windering if it is KRW based on afew things I have seen so far. This was in the parts purchase I made a couple of years ago and know some of its history. I know for a fact it was in the UPRR roundhouse in North Platte, Ne. before it was torn down. "Property of Union Pacific Railroad" stenseling can still faintly be seen in a couple of places.

I am going to clean it up, make some repairs and repaint it for use in my shop. Likely will paint it to match the 1929 KRW tool cabinet. Also does anyone know of someone making large stickers of the KRW logo?

I think you are right Rowdy, I don't think Wilson sold any with doors, but they could have been made by the same Company, as I don't think they made the shelving they sold.

They did the same with the Shop Tables they sold, as I have 5 of them and they were made by a company call Lyon. Wilson just put his stickers on.

I have one Cabinet that I know is a Wilson, as it came out of a Ford garage in the 50's, and another that may be, can't prove it???

I have 5 tables all togather, 2 Large, 2 Medium, and one small.

Rowdy, If you have copies of the Winfield done copies of the various KRW tool catalogs, they show the various cabinets. These started out as wood cabinets with doors and I believe went to metal covered wood cabinets. Lyon Metel Products in Aurora, Il. provided many of the parts dept. shelving and bins as well as tool carts for mechanics and the valve grinder carts and tear down carts for the mechanics. They are still in business. Tom Godicsh of Portland, OR. had been working on a project of reproducing the early cabinets of wood and shipping them in a knocked down form.

Thanks, I did not know about Lyon metal products, that would be a possibility also. I have spoken to Tom afew times, but find him hard to get ahold of. Last I spoke he was working on reproducing handles for the pullers and I left him my address to get ahold of me when he started to produce them. I have not heard a word and that has been over 2 years ago. Rod

Here is a metal cabinet picture from 1931-32 KRW catalog and bin pic of bin with no door. Lyon Metal products in Aurora, Il. I'm sure could have added doors at KRW request.
