HELP Setting dual point distributor
Need help proper way to set points on ‘47 Merc. Please help trying to get running for big show coming up.

The proper way is to have it strobed on a machine to set dwell, advance & timing.

I guess set them both at .016 , lube the vac piston and drive it . However the proper way would be a distributor machine......

If you don't have a bench type timer then set both sets of contacts to .014" and she will run fine. Of course other components inside the distributer should be cleaned and lubed, checked for wear etc. Regards, Kevin.
