Default two odd bolts on rear axle ?

I have 2 bolts on my rear axle (one on each side) that I don't know what they are for. They appear to be threaded into the axle with thick washers, might be lock washers.
I do have 2 side axles that connect to the rear axle for a track kit that came with the truck for snow. Could be some type of location marker to install them, not sure as I have not yet tried to install the kit. Any ideas what they might be for if not as some sort of guids for the brackets.
