Default Does anyone know of someone in central Michigan that can still hand cut valve seats?

I need to get a couple exhaust seats hand cut to get the pitting out to get this car running and it seems all the machine shops do not have hand cutters anymore. Does anyone know of someone in Michigan that still hand cuts seats with the engine in the car?

I am trying not to pull the engine and crank to take it to a machinist as at that point I could just get a rebuilt engine someplace.

Or does anyone know what cutter I would need and where to get it so I could purchase one?

No need to pull the engine and crank regardless of how you cut the seats. There should be someone in your area with a set of Neway cutters that can come by your house and do it for you. Even an electric one should be able to do it. I have done both with no problem. I can see why you would not want to tow it somewhere.

Hm , I think if you use a cutter and have not replaced the valve guides you'll end up with a no even cut. But I am sure you know all this.
