Landaui irons
I have a 30 cabroilet 68b that I’m redoing and top parts are a bear to find. My first issue is one of the landaui irons is a little sloppy. Any advice on how to split or correct. I see on a site that it can be sleeved. Any help is appreciated.
Also I’m considering chrome and will probably have to split to do so. |

Re: Landaui irons
When I restored my 68B Landau irons I split them apart made a bushing and a new rivet out of stainless steel. After plating I
installed the rivet. Last edited by RandyinUtah; 10-21-2019 at 11:41 PM. Reason: Correct wording |

Re: Landaui irons
Brattons has a lot of the top parts for Cabriolets including a set of original landau irons, landau iron brackets, landau iron spacers, top clamp, door post caps, landau iron knobs, script door sills, etc, etc...

Re: Landaui irons
I have done the same as Randy, i make the new rivet real tight in one arm and not as tight in the other. you want arms to be snug when finished.

Re: Landaui irons
I squeezed the rivet in a press, and it tightened up sufficiently.
