Default Transmission run it or take it apart?

I bought a chassis from an older restored 32. The transmission has no gear damage and I can’t feel any play. The guy I bought it from drove it a little before the car was taken apart and said it shifts nice. The transmission has newer gear oil (does not have the Ford smell). It needs a front seal as it leaks a little. I don’t know if possibly a rear as well.
Question- clean it out and run as is or tear it down?
