vent tube on EAB
On disassembly I noticed there was no oil deflectors or vent tube in valve valley. This is 52 EAB motor.. the tube I refer to is in the front right hand side of valley the deflectors are on earlier blocks they snap on to the cross oil tube. Do I need these on my late block?

Re: vent tube on EAB
My EAB has them both. I'd say the tube is pretty important, the deflectors less so.

Re: vent tube on EAB
You should have the deflectors snap on oil tube, with out them alot of oil will splashed up in the valve spring area and be sucked up the intake guides. You should have the breather pipe in side to direct the fumes out the breather tube down the front of the engine, I install a PCV valve in the front of the manifold run a hose into the manifold or under the carb to suck the fumes out. Re: vent tube on EAB
Thanks for the info. does any one have a spare set of deflectors? I can make the tube. and I will be using a pcv valve. should it be taped in to the down draft or the tall vent tube?

Re: vent tube on EAB
The PCV valve doesn't get taped into or to anything. It is plugged into a suitable grommet that gets plugged into the road draft tube hole on the intake manifold.
