Default An "adoring" job...

Well not really, this may help some of you if your @ this stage of your "resurrection". First picture is my new Bob Drake door latches, they fit like the originals.

Now here is were the pain begins, the second picture is my old door handle next to the new ones. Notice the middle one (square shaft as they come) and the third one that has been notched.

Bob's catalog does have a pictured note "some styles may require the shaft be shortened and/or notched for proper fitting to your latch" they aren't kidding.

Creating the notch after cutting the shaft to the original and fitted length can be nicely done with a small square file and a lot of patience. Scott

evidently B.D. couldn't take the time to manufacture the handles correctly. Then if you mess them up it's on you!

I have also opened up the stationary square hole in Bob Drake replacement door latches before. Did that just recently on a '36 pickup.
