top of a B block
I need to have the top of a B block surfaced. I've heard that Bs are thinner than As. How much can safely be taken off a B block?

Re: top of a B block
Since even stock B decks can and do crack, the answer to how much is probably "none". But what can you do when its warped? I instruct the machinist to only remove the very slightest amount that gets it flat.

Re: top of a B block
There is a Ford foundry print that shows a change in the deck thickness in late 31. I think it applied to the B. I don't have the print, or better, copy of reprint at hand but I believe it is 1/8" thinner. Copy of the print in an early issue of S O S S
