Default Restoring crank and rod bearings

In the past I recollect restorers using two kinds of powder (one course and the other finer for finishing) which when mixed with oil were used to restore bearing journals. Prussian Blue was used to measure progress. One of the powders was color yellow. Apparently the abrasive qualities deteriorated to zero with use so that clean-up was not a big concern. The reports were very positive. I am unable to find info in the archives. Does anybody have further info, advice, including source for obtaining?
Thank you in advance. George
