Shift tower fork rivet tool
Does anyone have a picture (or information) for a shift tower fork rivet tool than "sets" the semi-tubular rivets that hold the shift forks on the shafts? It seems like a small C clamp with the adjustable screw end removed and the end ground into a point would hold the rivet as the pointed end would "set" (spread) the rivet end. I haven't seen a tool like this on Fordbarn that I can remember. Maybe there is a better way, but I can't see how to get access to holding the rivet head while trying to spread the other end other than a C clamp type of tool.

Re: Shift tower fork rivet tool
I use a short pointed drift. I insert it into the hole in the fork and the shaft. When the tubular rivet is inserted in the hole on the opposite side the drift guides the rivet into place. All I do then is wallow the tubular rivet around with the drift enough to make sure it won't come back out.

I agree with Tom. No need for a great amount of force on the original type tube rivet

Use a small modified c-clamp.
