I want to install a gas tank fill screen in my '31 CCPU, but the float rod for the gas huge is in the way. Is the float rod supposed to be bent to pass around the screen? If so, I presume i'll have to remove the float and make the appropriate bend …correct?

The screen I am trying to install is part A-9020 as seen here.

someone might have put a 28-29 gauge in the tank they are shaped different and will hit the screen in the 30-31 tanks, and your answer is yes the float rod is suppose clear the screen.
