Underbody colour on 1934 Fords
I have read over the years in different articles that the under floor colour (color) for 1933/34 years could be black, body colour or whatever was left in the spray guns.
What is correct? |

Re: Underbody colour on 1934 Fords
Normally the paint residues from the last color end up in the interior in areas to be concealed with upholstery, so in the main the underbody ends up body color. That's based on a dozen or so examples, so like everyone else's samples, it is not statistically significant.

In this case, the intention was to have the underbody painted body color. Did that always happen? Nope. Was that Ford's intention? Yep.
