Default How rare is the Ford Script on Model A pickups?

I tried to find a picture-example on google.. But had no luck.

What I'm asking is, how rare is it to find a Model A pickup with the "Ford" Script above the rear window? My grandpa found one in Kansas and it was the only one he'd ever seen in his life, so he got it given it was just the Window with the script, but it can still be used on a Pickup.

I know Dudley Moordigian has a panel with the Ford script above the window. Maybe he will post a picture of it. I believed the script panel has the rear window a little higher than the later 28's and 29's. I don't believe Ford used the script panel on pickups and AA trucks for very long, but I am not very knowledgeable about it even though I have a 29 CCPU. Neil Wilson is a real authority on AA trucks and would probably have a good idea how long they were used. Maybe he will post something here.

This link to Neil Wilson's site has the information you need.
The script was used until Feb. 28. http://aafords.com/cabs/82-a-closed-cab/

Back side, the panel is very hard to find, I read somewhere the trucks only had them and pickups did not

You are correct. The pickups never had the Ford script.

Pickups (except the wide bed) had the Ford script in the tailgate:

The Service Letters show the CCPU was introduced in late 28
so the script was out of production by that time.

Bob C,
Which Service Letters did you get the information from? I had thought 28 CCPU's were introduced early in 1928, but I must have thought wrong. Would you post the Service Letters the information came from? I have the Fargo Service Letters. What about OCPU's? When were they introduced?

Look in 09-06-28 of the Fargo Service Letters, don't know about the OCPU.

Jayce,
It sounds like the Ford script upper back panel can be used on a pickup, but wouldn't be technically correct. If you are not a purest and you probably aren't, I am sure the panel is interchangeable with the later plain panel.

it is interchangeable. All the cab parts are interchangeable. The under the seat floor pan if the truck had a daul high, will have a hold for the oil fill
