Marv, this is the only photo I got of this concept car.

Bill, here's a shot of the only Studebaker Avanti that was on the show field. It is a '63 like ours but it is an R2 with the factory supercharger (our first one was an R2) the one we have now is an R1 with full factory options including PS/PB/PW/AC/Automatic.

Bill, the car is a custom bodied FIAT with body work by Pininfarina. Here's a shot of the interior... Looks like it could have been used at a Seaside Beach Resort.

You know me Bill... always fishin' for complements... LOL Today, if I get a chance to play in the garage, I'll install the circuit breaker in the '39CS and get her back on the road... We are expecting temps to near 80 degrees today, with lots of sunshine so, I want to take full advantage of some topless cruisin'...

Took a little trip to Loews to pick up some plants, etc. for the newly constructed planter wall in the back yard...

After planting everything I'm too tired to play in the garage...

I did fire up the '39CS and guess what... the headlights, etc. are working however, the gauges are still intermittent... Think I'll check the electrical system, including the generator/voltage regulator, and remove and clean the ignition switch while I'm at it. For those who may not know, the '39 Deluxe came with a voltage regulator, not a cut out. The late production '39's also came with a circuit breaker, not a fuse for the headlights... But that's tomorrows fun, right now I think it's nap time.

You made that truck happy hauling a load. The real utility vehicle brings home what you need.

Dang Vic, you 'done me in' with those two boat-tail photos! The burgundy with silver 12cyl would be in the top half of my top ten dream cars! I'm prepared to pay penitence to the Ford Gods for my blasphemy.

Your flowers look better than the buds on the tree in my front yard.

-VT/JeffH

PS. Those leaves make great natural mulch. That's what I tell the wife. There's upwards of fifty white-tails through here every day, they trim that azalea by the bay window, which is where the wife was napping when it came down. All is well 48 hrs. later. Time and money will fix many things, as you well know!

Jeff, I'm glad no one got hurt. The Deer usually like to dine on our fruit trees however, we've discovered that they don't like Hot Sauce...

Chuck, that's one of the easier loads the '51 has been used for... After all... it's a truck.

Bill, I had to use the Pickup because I hadn't gotten around to messin with the '39 CS and the Zephyr is without a carb at the moment...

Ken, that was a memory jolt... Not only did I never get the truck, I never even got a chance to look at it... I think the painter was blowing smoke...

First, let me wish a Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone. For me, it's a double celebration, one for the obvious reason and the other because I was discharged (honorably I might add) from the Army on this day in 1971. I celebrate by "taking off" the GREEN. Now, to keep this post Flathead related, I should have the '39 CS back on the road later today however, we are expecting rain (I've got the top down) so, not much chance for a test drive...

Glad you got your '39 CS back running, unfortunately, this wasn't a good day to test it. My rain gage shows 3" already. I got my CS back working last week after a carb. rebuild. First I had to get a new kit from Mac's since they sent me one for the Holly and I have a Stromberg. That wasn't the standard carb. on the '39. Enjoyed the pictures you took.

Warren, I really wanted to take the '39 CS for a cruise today but the rain gods had other plans... Maybe tomorrow won't be a wet... Glad you got your '39 CS running, it's about time for another cruise...

Last October, the day that we left for the Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, GA, I put a new brake light switch on the master cylinder in the '39 CS. It has been my experience that brake light switches usually last several years, before needing to be replaced. However, these "new", made in China switches are only lasting an average of four or five months... This is the second one to go bad in that time frame. I had also replaced the switch on the '39 LZ... Sure wish I could find a stash of USA made switches...

Vic:
I am not familiar with the switch, is it one wire or two wire?
What happens to them? { yea I know they no longer work }
Do you have one that went bad (as it came off the car ) that you could send me?

Vic, are you using the dot 5 silicone brake fluid? I had to use a mechanical switch on a couple of my cars. But I sure like not having all of the issues of stuck cylinders and rust in the system.
