Default Drive Your V-8 Ford This July 4th Weekend!!

Gotta replace the tie rod ends on the woodie today than drive her on this beautiful New England holiday weekend.

Savor our freedoms everyone, we're very lucky to live in the USA!

Get those Fords out on the road!!!!

Yup, we'll be doing just that. Looks like rain for the weekend here in Tampa so we'll put the tops up or drive one of our trucks. Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July.

Great woodie, I couldn't agree with you more about driving them. Maybe we will see you at Bennington, VT., in two weeks(July 16th) for a tour of Vermont-New Hamshire. You have lots of room in the woodie, Chuck.

Very nice 35 woodie - did you see the '34 on the cover of the Woodie Times? Thought it was yours.

I had a superb original 1940 Deluxe Coupe in high school that I bought for $275.00 in 1963. Put a hot flathead and then a 348 Bow Tie motor in it. I'd give my left arm to have it today.

The 1940 Ford is truly a beautiful car!!!!

90 degrees up here in New England. Great weekend weather for the 4th. So, after leaving Cape Cod early and driving 225 miles in the new car, when we got unpacked and I asked Barb if she wanted to go for a ride. She was ready so ask me if I was crazy and I explained it was a good day to test for hot weather driving for our upcoming trip in the 46 to Nova Scotia. 1 1/2 hour ride thru town and country. 15 minutes of city traffic as we returned. Put a thermometer in the radiator as soon as we got home before the ambient heat raised it when she stopped. 185 degrees. Open road at 40 mph and the dash gauge was just over half way. Intown and it would got to 3/4. Don't know how accurate but certainly not running too hot. Didn't make ice cubes like GM's 39 but should be good for the trip. Skips pumps, 50/50 mix, no thermostats, water wetter and a good radiator. Attached a couple of small American flags to the bumerettes to celebrate the 4th.
As an aside, we went to a small town parade in Orleans, Ma yesterday and very disturbing to see that very few men remove their hats when the flags went by. Even a lot of old guys didn't!
Remember the troops
