My Friend BB wants pros and cons to upgrade to 12volt system

When I bought the '40 it had been converted to 12V & analternator. I converted it back to 6 volts & a generator I rebuilt. The I put the 59L engine in the '40, and 6 volts wouldn't crank the engine over because of the increased bore & stroke and compression ratio, so back to 12 volts again with 6 volt generator with 12V field coils. So it depends.
