Default 36 Ford Coupe?

On my grandpa's land I found what I believe is a 1936 ford five window coupe that is half buried in a creek. I think it would be a cool project if it is possible to dig it out and it is not too rusted out. I would love to save this car from rotting away and would like to hear your inputs on it. i have the hood in my garage and ill attach a picture to this thread and I'm guessing someone can confirm what it is.

That is not a '36 Ford hood based on what I can see of the side panels. Not sure what year/make it actually is.

I'ts kinda hard to tell from those pix, but the hood looks alot like a 1939 Chevy Pickup hood.

The forward corner either side of the center looks to be almost sharp, whereas the Ford would be quite rounded by comparison.

Hi Everyone,

Here's a detail from a photo I took at Hershey this year. It's of a '36 Phaeton.

The actual hood I can't tell, but the sides don't look like '36 Ford to me either.

Do those sides fit that hood?

Reviewing the pix as best I can, I think the hood could be a '36 hood with aftermarket solid hood panels.. The '36 Ford hoods were one of the few from that period that had the long split down the middle, to accommodate the long hood mounting bracket that Ford used..
I had a similar set of hood panels on my '36 for many years, they might still be up in the rafters of my garage..

That hood is not 36 Ford... 36 Fords have a V shape at rear of hood to match the cowl, whereas this hood is straight across the back

Here is a 1939 Chevy pickup hood. The chrome strip on the side panel
appears the same, and you can see the long open slot below the
chrome strip, even though the crooked chrome strip covers up much
of the open slot on the old hood side panel.

Well now,.. The hood in question does indeed look like the '39/40 Chevy truck hood.. I knew the hood was not a '37-38 Chevy trk hood, I have a couple of them..
