distributor question
Did Ford equip any of the late flatheads with dual point distributors, or are they aftermarket units ? I'm speaking of the LoadOmatic units.
Thanks for any information, including how much difference do these make, compared to the single point style. Bill

Re: distributor question
The dual point breaker plate was the hot no. back in the 50's. thay were aftermarket. I guess they were supposed the give your coil more dwell time. Walt

Never seen any dual point factory loadamatics but do see the Mallory conversion kits on Ebay from time to time. More than likely not work the time and trouble based on the rpm band of the flathead. A better increase in performance be the addition of a mechanical advance distributor . |
