Hi guys i am doing a viniger flush on my 37, i have put 6 litres in and toppedwith water. Is this enough viniger? Also how long should i run around with this in? I tried to do a search but stupid tablet wont give me a keyboard. Thanks in advance . Tony.

20 minutes at operating temperature should give you all flush possible with vinegar. OK to leave it in for a few days, heat and cool, a few trips, but not for an extended period. flush well with clear water, and use a rust inhibitor water pump lubricant.

I use water soluble oil, works great. sta lube and a bunch of people make it

Vinegar might fool you. I put an old rusty but still good hand potato peeler into a glass of diluted vinegar and left it for a week. When I pulled it out there was only a fine thread of the cutting blade left. The vinegar ate it all away in one week!
It sounds like you used undiluted vinegar. If so, I would not leave it in for a week. Drain it after a day and check the results. Maybe even put a rusty piece of steel into a test jar of the vinegar and see how it works on the rust in that time. You sure don't want to risk damage to the engine. That might not be fixable.

I've used NAPCO oil years ago, with water to lube water pump and fight rust. Now I use a 50/50 mix anti-freeze and water, but down here we don't have that much cold weather. Why do you use water and lube mix, do you drain the radiator in the winter?

I use white vinegar for a week. The block developed a leak. 24hours max.

be aware for every 10 degrees you raise the temp. of vinegar it increases its
acidity more than you realize
