Dizzy advice
I reinstalled the distributor yesterday Using original points and condensor . Timed re Marco and it runs well. However when I advance the ignition the car dies. If I quickly retard the lever it runs fine again.
My diagnosis is a lower plate wire problem Although it checked out fine for continuity before I reassembled the distributor I suspect there is a break in the wire that only shows up when the wire is stretched Any other suggestions ? Karl |

Re: Dizzy advice
It's more likely that you have a combination of unwanted play in the upper plate due to wear at the center hole AND insufficient clearance of the flag terminal on the wire (below the points) so it grounds out against the housing when the plate rotates.
