Default headlight reflectors

Who sells the best replacement headlight reflectors for a Model A? I see them listed in several catalogs. Mine are pretty faded.

None are the correct shape and will not focus the light correctly. Owners have gone to higher power bulbs to counter the poor shape and focus.

If you have good originals...spend the money and have them resilvered.

Don't waste your money on repro's.

Have your olds resilvered, it will be cheaper and give you years of services.

How do you know if you have originals, ...or 40 year old reproductions?

Mike have you tried to clean them? I have a set of extra 30-31 reflectors that were resilvered years ago but never used. They are still in the wrapper let me know if you can use them.

What do you want for them?

My son's car needs a set.

Mike,

The company referenced as Alvira is probably UVIRA. You can reach them at (541) 474-5050. The process they use is not silver but aluminum. The aluminum is then finished with a clear coat. This is the process used in space satellites and medical mirrors. You will probably need to have yours nickel plated before you send them to them (call and ask). The original silver has better reflectivity but the aluminum is almost as good and will not tarnish with time. If it was mine I would find a set of original reflectors (some of the repros were the wrong shape) and send them to them. Remember one bulb reflectors for cars with cowl lights and do not use chrome plated reflectors.
