https://www.charlotte-autofair.com/ I would stay in the general area. Charlotte has a lot of crime. Unless you are street smart, I would give it a wide berth. - https://www.areavibes.com/charlotte-nc/crime/

Re: Charlotte NC April 7-10
From a posting on the HAMB:
Get ready to walk. The swap meet starts slowly on Thursday and is pretty much populated by late Friday morning. There are 2 large fields behind the track- which you might spend one day exploring. Inside the track, the swap meet is sprawling and somewhat difficult to navigate. The car corral operates on the 1.5 mile oval. You’ll note plenty of spaces devoted to hanging out and drinking beer. Traffic is a mess. We stay south of Charlotte so we can approach from the south along RT 29; and park behind the track near the water tower. Avoid the major route coming from the west off the interstate. The weather is typically warm and can be stormy, depending upon what is coming across the southern US. Severe weather is not unheard of. The rear fields can be quite muddy. Food is terrible and expensive. Apparently the billionaire who owns the track thinks $5 for a bottle of water is reasonable. Think seriously about bringing food and drink with you. We stay near University Park and there are plenty of nice restaurants there. Enjoy your visit.
