Default A truck so nice, I had to own it twice.

Has anyone ever owned a car more than once? I'm sure plenty here have, but this was a first for me.

I bought this nice truck a few months ago and when the neighbor made an offer I couldn't refuse the second I got it home, sold it, against my better judgement. And I instantly regretted it of course.

To my surprise, he called back soon after and said he couldn't fit in it comfortably. He didn't want to sell it necessarily, as he liked looking at it, but did mention that he *would* sell it, if something else came along.

Long story short, I ended up selling him a very nice '38 Convertible and in the process, took the truck back as part trade in the deal.

(That's the short version, there is a much longer one available with many photos on my website if anyone gets bored)

Anyway, I'm happy to have this truck back, it really is a great rig. Older restoration that runs and drives really well. Stock other than the Kelsey wheels.

Has anyone owned their Model A multiple times?

My Dad bought this when I was about 9 years old, sold it several years later. It actually changed hands several more times until when I was 14, I tracked it down and bought it, my first ever vehicle.

Apart from the 16" wheels and the steering wheel on the left, that is identical to mine, even though that model was never offered here.

I haven't owned any of my cars twice, but I would love a pickup. Unfortunately, I am 6'2", so I am not sure how practical an idea that is.

Carl G,

I hope you still have the wheels from that AA. Those are $$. Hubcaps are extremely hard to find though.

Some of you will remember Shelly (now Van Pelt), former owner of Fordbarn. Circumstances conspired for me to purchase her 1929 Closed Cab Pickup (named Clyde) and 1931 Slantwindow (named Abigail Marie). I later took the CCPU to a Fordbarn and Billetproof meet in Florida, where Bud Reynolds (Shadetree on the ‘Barn) saw Ol’ Clyde and fell in love ~ he pestered me (in a good way) to sell to him and I finally did so; however, with the proviso that I had rights of first refusal if he decided to sell. Well, several years later, it came to be, and Ol’ Clyde now resides back in Mississippi.
Shadetree has passed to his just reward, and his son (Buddy) has informed me that he wants Ol’ Clyde back should I decide to sell …… and there is very real possibility that I may do so in the near future …… so I would own Ol’ Clyde twice and the Reynolds family would own him twice …..
And for those who think they wouldn’t fit in a CCPU: I’m 6’2” tall, and have no problems with ingress or egress. If you want a CCPU, buy one!

Milford, I'm 6'3' and I fit in my 29, when I owned her. for my 39 pickup, I tied the back of the seat springs down, with wire ties.

I drive a Roadster Pickup and I'm 6'2. My head is largely above the windshield. So I have no line of sight issues.

Bought our 31 Town Sedan from a good friend in 2009.
Drove it a lot- 11,000 miles.
Foolishly sold it in 2013 and regretted it.
Bought it back in 2020, but life had changed and we did not drive it much.
Sold it to another old friend in 2021, now it's getting the road time it deserves.....

You could lay in the bed and I'll drive...problem solved.
