I see. Quite a difference, but that battery box actually looks like it belongs there; not just stuck on.
Thank you.

Am I getting closer? How tight should the battery box be to the firewall? I have a small gap. Do i force it tight and then weld it in place?

Right now it is just sitting there. The multi-colored firewall makes it more difficult to see. That should ne corrected very soon.

Are the hinge screws always difficult to remove? I did find that 2 of the 3 have a nut on them, but they are tight! or corroded.

Looking a lot better. Here are some more pictures. I think the upper lip of the tray is supposed to be inside the cab but if you are not going for a perfect replica what you have is probably fine.

39mars, Do you have pics of how the removable engine side panels mount ? I have the mount kit but not sure where it all goes. Thanks, Mike

I had to guess myself as none of the pieces were intact on either of my pickups. What I ended up with was 3 bumpers on each side of the cab in front where the hood side would touch it and 2 of the pieces that look like slices of bike inner tube over the fender brackets shown in this pic. I ended up with extra pieces that I did not think were meant for the pickup as the kit is for passenger cars as well.

Post pictures if you can. It would be helpful understanding what you are working on. Granted airchairing is fine if it works for you.

There are two clips that mars posted. They are not available anymore.

Also there is a difference in the hood support and how it connects to the side panels, depending on years 38/39.

As a side note, the dash posted above is a 39. 38 had a ashtray in the center.

Yes, I should be clear that everything I have is '39 so if there are slight differences between what I post and the '38, please let us know!

Mars everything you have posted is very helpful in a general sense of both. There are little differences, but it is very much the same overall.

A Shoutout and THANK YOU to Ken ( 62pan) for letting me crawl over and under his '39 getting some pictures that will help with the reassembly. THAT is the sort of stuff that makes this a great forum!
And I also appreciate the help you all have given here on this thread. It is ALL greatly appreciated. Maybe we will get this truck on the road!
