Default Radiator shell lacing

Silly question: Is there a lacing that goes between the radiator and the shell? Or does the shell just drop on the radiator, and the lacing is just for the hood to rest on?

No anti-squeak (lacing) between the radiator arms and the radiator shell. The anti-squeak is attached with split rivets to the shell for the hood to rest on.
