Body codes
On a 1923 Model T Tudor I found a body code on the left side of the BODY Front Floor Cross Sill just behind the area where you put your feet when you are driving.
It was SE-8-5648. Does anyone know what that means? Thanks. Steve Plucker Walla Walla, WA |

Re: Body codes
MTFCA Forum has several discussions of body numbers. Here is one:

http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages...tml?1435633272 While some research has been done, just not a lot of info like the Model A on body numbers. The SE should indicate the body builder and the number the builders record of how many made. Using a 1929 Briggs TS number for comparison, where the first 3 numbers indicate the body style and the number after that how many made, the model T didn't use a code to indicate style. I think that the tudor would have been made by Briggs or Wilson so the number stamped on it would be their code for record keeping.
