Default New shocks

The old shocks are a long story,, so I won't go into it.. But,, I replaced the old ones some years ago with those 'oil-less ones' [ I've thought they were junk, well, they are].. Bought a set of Bill Stipes and just got around to putting them on,, they are nice !! Just thought I'd let you know..

Yes they are. Too bad they are going out of production.

Yes, I know, thats unfortunate.. The shocks are pricey, but, I guess they are worth it, all things considered..
Those oil-less pieces of crap I bought about 8-10 years ago for $750.. What a waste of money.. There is Apple Hydraulics in downstate New York that does a really nice job rebuilding originals, by the time they cut the rotor and push in a stainless sleeve the cost really adds up.. So Bills shocks price isn't too bad considering that..

I have rebuilt originals on the front of the roadster and on the rear tube types that came from Snyders, that combination gives a good ride. Tried the tube types on the front and they were too stiff.

Spike, I bought a set of Bill Stipe's shocks this winter for my town sedan. Apparently they sold the CNC machine used for making the shocks. However they have a fairly good inventory remaining. Whether or not they go back into production depends on market demand.
Another good source is Robert Paul in Yoder CO. I didn't have any rebuildable cores for my "31" ccpu and he supplied cores and rebuild them for a very reasonable price including shipping. I just installed them this week and so far they perform great. Just don't be in a hurry.
