More about transmission fluid plus question

regarding the multi-disc clutch problems in my 1928 phaeton. Sprayed two cans of brake cleaner through the clutch and drained it. In the gear box, put in a mixture of Lucas Oil Stabilizer and Transmission Heavy Oil. With both changes made, took it out for a drive and found a marginal to good improvement in the clutch action and related improvement to the gear grinding problem. The drive was also fun, reckless on country roads. Question: Does anyone know what plant is identified by the body number "M"? My car has a stamped number on the floor panel support which is M*335. The M is very large (much larger than the numbers) and almost appears to be stamped with a different kind of tool, while the star and 335 are clearly a single type of stamp tool. When did the M plant start production? Why the wierd anomoly in the stamped numbers? Could I be misreading the M instead of a real identifier? It is much more faint than the numbers. Thanks for the input, Regards, [email protected] |
