Confused...The Special Shelve Deluxe Delivery
Starting about June, 1931, Ford offered the Special Shelve Deluxe Delivery.
So my question is this...was this a "special" type fo body that Ford offered OR were these just "special" shelving that one could obtain for the Deluxe Delivery vehicle? Only 35 were assembled in 1931. If anyone has a photos or refferences, please let me know. Thanks. Pluck |

Re: Confused...The Special Shelve Deluxe Delivery
There are a couple of references to this in The Ford Model A "As Henry Built It". On page 181 is picture of a rear view of the inside of the 30-31 Deluxe Delivery. "Inside view of the 1930-31 Deluxe Delivery Truck. The partition and shelf was an accessory. The small gate was hinged to the shelf and locked in place. The bar under the shelf was for carrying ladders". Then on page 182 a write up on the drop floor version of the Deluxe Delivery is followed by the following statement; "A special shelving and partition unit which had been developed for the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. was made a standard item for all Deluxe Deliveries" Hope this helps.
