Rear end question
I am making great progress on my differential but have a stupid question. Getting ready to put the new bearings on the carrier and start the adjustment process. My question is since the bearings will be in oil in the banjo do I pack them with grease like normal or not?? I have read Les Andrews write up about 20 times and it does not mention anything. I know what happens when you assume things.....lol. Thanks

Re: Rear end question
I personally would not pack these with grease. The thickness of the grease might give you some interesting readings when younger trying to adjust and set it up. I would put a light coating of oil on them to prevent them from running dry and perhaps scoring the bearings or races during assembly.
Also, there are no dumb questions. Just questions we wished we would of asked sooner. Just my two cents worth ! |

Re: Rear end question
I give them a squirt of oil as I install them, nothing after until under the car.
