Default How low can you go? What is the lowest 28A frame ID number you have seen?

If you have an early 28A or AA frame, will there be zeros between the A and the production numbers stamped on the frame? I had a 28 roadster and an AA truck in my first life,55 years ago,but can't remember,if there were zeros or if there were 7 digets after the A in the ID number. What have you seen?

The frames were stamped to match the engine during assembly. The earliest engines had a short number pad, no leading zeros. The pad grew longer as production progressed. See Pluckers engine pad stuff for details! LINK Frame stamping matched the engine number, no leading zeros. Henry knew time was money, why stamp *AA0000123* (11 items) when *AA123* (7 items) will do?

I've seen a few six-digit number frames, no leading zero.

I think I have a photo of "A2xx" somewhere.

Here's a photo of the frame stamping on A745. Well actually it's a photo of a photo, but it's the best I could do since the car was restored long before digital cameras were common.
