Under Car Paint Finish
I am doing a lot of under car touch up on a previously restored (50 yrs ago) 28 Pheaton and am trying to not make work for myself. I am not painting everything just areas that need it, frame axles spindles radius rods etc. I think it’s supposed to be gloss black but because it’s old semi gloss matches better. It’s not a show car. Am I making a mistake using semi gloss?

Not at all, it is 'correct'.

Re: Under Car Paint Finish
50 years ago people would just brush on black enamel paint on the frame and running gear.

Re: Under Car Paint Finish
Frame and springs were satin. Most everything else is semi gloss. Press steel and spring hangers were gloss. Grease fittings plain or white cad.
