One of 200 what?

One of the first 200 Model A Fords, you can tell by the open front bumper.

I have a notion that the guy in front was the dealer. He just looks the part.

The photo was taken by a photographer name of Fred Tannenberg and he was in Hood River Oregon. I have gone through quite a lot of archived photos and did not see that one but there are many photos from that time. Lot's of Ts, some Dodge's. Some very interesting old time photos. I'm sure if that photo was emailed to the Historical Society, they could identify the gentlemen in the photo. I did not come across any photos of any Ford Dealership but did see one Dodge business.

The open bumpers would suggest that it is one of the first 200 A's made.

I have eight of those caps and one for summer on the way. If you seen them in Portland, it might have come from the Hat People:

http://www.hatpeople.com/tourshop/catalogue/cat.html I have three of theirs., full cut. They are located in Talent, Oregon. They don't have a shop of their own but their hats are in local shops, like the one you saw.

BUT...........theirs is a bit more in price, so it can't be their caps.

I have a friend in Nova Scotia, Canada that has a 28 Model A with the open ends on the front bumper. It is a regular driver. It also has the emergency brake on the left side by the kick panel. I can't remember if it is his Sports Coupe or the Fordor that he has

Great photo find!

Yes, the open ended front bumper would suggest that it is a real early '28. Even looks like the left side (as we look at it) bumper bars are bent a bit or even separating.

I tried to zoom in on this photo but it just pixilated for me. I wanted to see if the headlight lenses were top script.

Of course, the photo beckons the question, What is such an early '28 doing at a dealership in Oregon?. The ve28's were so difficult to get early on, yet the license plate says it came from a dealership in Oregon.

Many ve28 cars and parts are found on the West Coast. I wonder if Ford "dumped" many of the early cars and parts out West because there was no resistance to the early brake system that there was back East. Could this photo be further evidence that the dumping really happened?
