Help with a section ID
I picked up this Model A back half years ago and it has been in a corner-etc. Looking at it today I am thinking it is a cabriolet/sport coupe section rather than a roadster. Lock area looks high for a roadster and the contours do not match my roadster doors. I can make it work for me but am I right thinking a restorer might have a harder time finding this than a roadster section? Input appreciated. John 845-266-5304

Re: Help with a section ID
Is there a way to tell if it is 28/29 or 30/31 since there is no cowl? Thanks, John

Re: Help with a section ID
I am having difficulty seeing the pictures in a decent size to identify your body but look over the top of the rear fender for a stamped bead which will tell you if 28/29 or 30/31.

Re: Help with a section ID
As Brent stated, there appears to not be a bead over the fender well which indicates 1928-29. Also, it is definitely not roadster.

Definately looks like 28-29 coupe rear quarter pannels. Rod

Re: Help with a section ID
Looks like its the same as my business coupe. However, it appears that someone hacked off the door frame above the panel. Mine is a 1928.
Here is a side view of my car before I tore it down:

Re: Help with a section ID
Ok, I'll attempt to be a little more clear. First, although the pics show very little it certainly appears there has been some serious cutting and scabbing going on so the usefulness toward any restoration is questionable. Better pics would shed some light.
Now, most folks don't realize that ALL four '28-29 Coupe types use the same body from the belt line down and forward. Although it would require some work you can literally take the roof sections and swap them among any of the four Coupe body types.

Re: Help with a section ID
Marco----that is valuable information as so many of these bodies have been taken apart---sawmills, doodlebugs etc. Thanks again--John
