Default Front axle spindle adapters....

Pictured are these stamped BURDETTE spindle adapters that were attached on the upper portion of the front axle and spindle just below the oiler.

I do not have the before pictures but would like to know there purpose and If I need to re-install them. I'm assuming they were an item used when the bushings were worn.

New bushings are installed in the spindles and the front axle is almost complete, any input would be great.
